Crowdfunding is a way to be
Crowd Wine Penedés come up from a successful crowdfunding campaign carried out in August 2018. Right here the name “Crowd Wine” is created, the literal translation “wine from the crowd” accompanied by the word “Penedés”, the region where wine is made.
The crowdfunding campaign was launched on the Verkami platform, with a duration of 40 days where they wanted to raise € 5,500 to prepare the first edition of the Crowd Wine Penedés. Finally, more than 111 patrons participated in the campaign, contributing € 51.22 per person. In total, € 5,686 was raised, destined entirely to pay for the production of 2,779 bottles.
Different types of rewards
Crowdfunding campaigns work through rewards. So, what are rewards? Well, they are wine packs depending on the amount you want to buy in advance.
These were the most frequent rewards chosen by the patrons.
After making the battonage and aging in a stainless steel tank, it was bottled and began delivering the packs to the patrons from the second week of December 2018.
All the rewards were accompanied by a visit to the Cal Escallo vineyard and also an on-site tasting of the 100% Macabeo Crowd Wine white wine direct from the stainless steel tank.




Crowd Wine Experience
Two wine tourism visits were made. The first group of patrons came on 10-13-2018 and the other group on 10-27-2018. The visit lasted about 3 hours from mid-morning until lunchtime. In total, more than 60 people came to live the Crowd Wine experience.
A summary in 2 minutes of the Crowd Wine experience that the patrons of the project lived. First, a visit to one of the oldest vineyards in Penedés, Cal Escallo and second, a visit to the Jordi Lluch Winery with a final tasting of other wines and cavas that the winery also produces.
